Welcome!

This blog will feature cool old buildings I’ve seen round Minneapolis and beyond.
Let me know about interesting buildings you have seen in Minneapolis/St. Paul or elsewhere in Minnesota and they could appear here.

  1. I have just returned from a visit to Minneapolis and a stop at the house my immigrant ancestor Stewart Gamble built. The current residents allowed me to take pictures of the magnificent stained glass window on the landing of their stairway. I’m would love to know who were the prominent stained glass artists working around 1900 in Minneapolis.

Also, Stewart Gamble went into business in Minneapolis and with his partner built a lovely building at Hennepin and 3rd. It was still standing in 1990, but I fear it might have been demolished since. Do you know?

Were you connected with John Willett who was working in stained glass about the right time?

I am enjoying you site greatly.
