Witness and Journalist

Shelia Regan began writing articles for the Twin Cities Daily Planet in 2008. Whether or not the story of the effort to save the Pauline Fjelde house from demolition was her first article or not, I do not know…
but this article was the first of many she wrote about the events leading to the Fjelde house’s destruction.

I do know that she was living in Theron Potter Healy’s last home in the Healy historic district in south Minneapolis. Journalists are witnesses to history. They research their stories, interview those involved and then write/record the story in a way that educates and informs.
The record of journalists, and our own narratives serve as an important resource for current and future historians and preservation activists.
